Hi, my name is Reggie and I am an amateur astrophotographer in Perth, Western Australia.
I have had a passion for astronomy since I was a child. I being shown a book about space and the first images I saw were of Omega Centauri and the Andromeda Galaxy.and I was hooked! However, circumstances and the state of technology in the 1980s meant I had little chance of owning my own telescope or astrophotography equipment.
In my teens I developed an interest in (terrestrial) photography. An interest that has stayed with me for life.
In early 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic rolled across the world and many of us, including me, were in lockdown, I decided to revisit my childhood hobby. Advances in technology in recent years made it now feasible to combine my two great passions: astronomy and photography.
Astrophotography is a daunting, multi-faceted pursuit combining many different fields and technologies. I found great support in my local astrophotography community and my own endeavours by every day and every season brings something new to learn.
Thank you for viewing my page.
